‘Contemporary Legit’ and ‘Mix’ are two terms that are the cause of considerable confusion among singers and teachers.
Both of these vocal styles are essential for the contemporary musical theatre performer.

What are they and how are they best approached?
This new course brings together elements of two previous workshops, Belt and Mix and Contemporary Legit, but focussing this time on approaching Mix from a Contemporary Legit perspective.
It can sometimes seem as though Mix can have more in common with Contemporary Legit than Belt yet there are clear differences in voice production, in the sound that results and of course, practise routines.

The day will include:
• Defining Contemporary Legit and Mix - differences and similarities
• Defining the sound - technically and stylistically
• Where to use it – composers, musicals and roles
• Audio/Video Examples of Contemporary Legit and Mix
• Exploratory exercises and suggestions for practise

• Q&As

PRIOR KNOWLEDGE OF ESTILL VOICE TRAINING NOT REQUIRED
